Two employees of a Fayetteville clothing business were arrested Monday after admitting to stealing $2,500 from their workplace and using the money on drugs and new tires, police say.

Ryan Wilcoxson, 19, and Corey Mycka, 20, were arrested on suspicion of felony theft of property. They were released Tuesday from the Washington County Detention Center on $2,500 bond each.

Fayetteville police began interviewing employees of Southern Trend Clothing after the business sustained a burglary Oct. 1, said Sgt. Craig Stout. Wilcoxson and Mycka did not admit to the burglary, but Wilcoxson told detectives he stole $2,500 from the business during the Bikes, Blues and BBQ motorcycle rally in 2011, police said.

Wilcoxson said he stole four bundles of money from Southern Trend, according to a preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office. He also told detectives he gave Mycka $500 of the money, the report states.

Mycka said he put the money toward new tires that cost $800 to $1,000. Wilcoxson said he spent the money on drugs, electronics, rent and a new vehicle, according to the report.
