Allen Flurry, 57, was killed Saturday night after a house fire on Walnut Road in Sallisaw.

Flurry’s body has been sent to Oklahoma Medical Examiner’s Office to determine an exact cause of death, according to police chief Shaloa Edwards.

Edwards said foul play is not suspected.

Flurry was asleep when the fire broke out but woke up and tried getting out of the house, a neighbor told 5NEWS.  The neighbor said the back door was jammed and couldn’t get it open. A family member tried to rescue Flurry from the burning home, according to a family member.

The one-story home on South Walnut was destroyed.
