College Students Tune In to Presidential Debate

Students at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith watched President Barak Obama and Governor Mitt Romney go head to head Monday night.

Students at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith watched President Barak Obama and Governor Mitt Romney go head to head Monday night.

The debate focused on foreign policy. Candidates discussed everything from Libya to Iran.

College students say they do plan to vote on Election Day this year.

Hot issues for young people include tax cuts and jobs. “As a college student I want to be able to graduate and know that I have a job,” said Jeremiah Gieselman, a student at UA Fort Smith.

After watching Monday’s debate some young voters say they still have not decided who to vote for.

“Right now it's kind of even,” said Michael McCarthy, a student at UA Fort Smith. “I don't really see a big winner, so it's kind of making it difficult.”
