A strong cold front will quickly put a chill in the air Thursday night after a stretch of mild, Spring-like temperatures.

A strong push of cold air arrives in NWA Thursday afternoon then sweeps into the River Valley Thursday evening. Scattered showers and storms will be possible across the entire area Thursday afternoon and evening. Severe weather is not expected.

High temps will be reached shortly after noon in NWA then tumble throughout the rest of the afternoon.

The cold air will reach the River Valley and Eastern Oklahoma closer to dinner time.

These colder than average temperatures stick around through the weekend, with a freeze likely in NWA Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings. A frost is likely in the River Valley Saturday and Sunday.
