A Lowell man pleaded guilty in federal court Friday to producing child pornography.
Cody Malone, 26, faces 15 to 30 years in prison without the possibility of parole. He originally faced three charges of sexual indecency with a child, internet stalking of a child and video voyeurism following his arrest, according to the Benton County Jail website.
Malone was arrested in June on suspicion of soliciting minors online for sexual purposes. He later admitted to the charge and told police he had had sex with a 15-year-old girl that he met online, according to the Springdale Police Department.
Police later checked Malone’s cell phone and found a recording of Malone having sex with the teen.
U.S. District Court Judge Jimm Larry Hendren accepted Malone’s guilty plea in U.S. District Court in Fayetteville, according to the local U.S. Attorney’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Dustin Roberts prosecuted the case.
