A Fayetteville woman was released from jail Tuesday after police say she stole prescription pills, perfume and cologne from her ex-roommate.

Julie Summers, 37, was arrested Monday on suspicion of obtaining a prescription by fraud, residential burglary and theft of property. She was released Tuesday from the Washington County Detention Center on $3,500 bond.

Police said Summers stole prescription pills of Oxycodone, Somas and Opana from her ex-roommate in September when the roommate left town for a month. The roommate came home to find her pills missing, along with perfume, cologne and a laptop computer, according to a preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.

A witness saw Summers at the apartment at the time, the report states.

Summers later attempted to fill one of the prescriptions, and the pharmacist notified police, according to the report. Police located Summers and arrested her.

Summers told police she took the perfume and cologne because it belonged to her. She also said the roommate gave her the prescriptions to fill, but set her up by then claiming they were stolen, according to the preliminary report.
