Search and rescue teams from two counties worked on their trade Sunday at Devil's Den State Park.

The Crawford County Search and Rescue held a camp to share strategies and techniques with rescue crews from Washington and Crawford counties. Search dog teams also participated.

Camp organizers said search dogs are crucial in rescue and recovery efforts.

"We're in the northern part of Crawford County," said Tim Jones, the camp coordinator. "A lot of times we have people lost in this area from either Devil's Den or hunters up in the area. So, it's good for us to work with those other counties so that when we get out here in the field we're familiar with who we're going to be working with."

Search crews said the public plays an important wild card role in searches. Sometimes a person in the right place at the right time can find what authorities had been looking for.
