More than a hundred local military service men and women were given a special "thank you" Friday during a Veteran's Day Celebration at the Alma Performing Arts Center.

Students from Alma Middle School and their honored guests attended the assembly. Afterwards the veterans were honored with a lunch.

Warren Blaylock fought in World War II decades ago, but says it took years for service to be recognized.

Blaylock was among more than a hundred local service men and women at a special Veteran's Day ceremony.

"I really appreciate it,” he said. “I don’t know who did it all. Now to me - what those kids did up there, that was just great."

The ceremony was put on by the middle schools Beta Club and student council with help from Alma Middle School band and choir.
