Fayetteville quarterback and Arkansas commit Austin Allen has been named the Gatorade Arkansas High School Football Player of the Year for 2012.

Allen has thrown for almost 3,400 yards in his senior season with 29 touchdowns.

He is now a finalist for the national award.

Allen will play in the final high school game of his career Saturday at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock when #2 Fayetteville faces #1 Bentonville for the third straight year in the 7A title game.

However, it will not be his last game before he begins his college career. Allen will play in the Semper Fi All American Game in Carson, California on Jan. 4.
