A Fayetteville woman was killed early Tuesday afternoon after her Ford Escort was pinned between two semi-trucks on Interstate-40, according to state police crash records.

Kristin G. Jackson, 33, was pronounced dead in Prairie County, shortly after the accident at 12:29 p.m. Justin M. Jackson, the driver of the Escort, was injured and taken to University of Arkansas Medical Sciences hospital in Little Rock.

Justin Jackson, 39, is listed at the same Fayetteville address as Kristin Jackson. His condition is unknown.

A tractor-trailer had stopped on the highway for construction, with the Escort stopped behind the semi-truck. Another tractor-trailer rammed into the Escort from behind, launching the car into the other semi-truck, according to crash records.

The tractor-trailer that crashed into the Escort was driven by Michael Serrat, of Fort Smith. He was uninjured in the crash.

A third tractor-trailer failed to stop, and slammed into Serrat’s semi-truck.

No one else was injured.
