From the moment you walk up to Hawaiian Brian's, you're transported to the islands of Hawaii.

The owner, Mike Holmbeck, grew up in Hawaii, and he longed for the food he enjoyed as a child.

"When I met my wife, I made her the kotzu chicken and she made me make it every day for three weeks straight. My kids loved the spam and eggs and the loko moko. Finally, they kept saying, "Mike why don't you open up a restaurant? It's so good and you can't get it anywhere around here.'"

Some people aren't sure what to get when they arrive, so they offer a family sized platter where you can sample all of the best of Hawaii. They started the business small out of a silver airstream trailer located off College Avenue in Fayetteville.

Business has been booming so far. Think comfort food and good times when you stop by.

"The loko moko is a hamburger patty on a bed of rice with a fried egg on top covered with gravy. It sounds about as un-Hawaiian as you can get, but the only place you can find it is in Hawaii."

They are now located in the Evelyn Hills Shopping Center off College Avenue. You can get your taste of Hawaiian Brian's every day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

It's like taking a trip to Hawaii for seven bucks a plate.
