At 10:21 a.m. Tuesday Emily Cathryn Moye was born in Fort Smith. She is Mercy Hospital Fort Smith’s first baby of 2013.

Proud parents Josh and Kellie Moye spent New Year’s Day enjoying their new daughter. “We went to dinner last night for New Year's Eve, date night. Came home and my water broke,” said Kellie Moye.

Baby Emily weighed 7 lbs. She measured 19 inches long. “January 8th was my due date, so we were surprised,” said Moye. “It was a good surprise though.”

Baby Emily has two older brothers. Dad Josh says she is already spoiled.

“I think she's definitely gonna be a big duck hunter and she's gonna really enjoy the deer woods and hunting with grandpa and papaw,” said Josh.

The Moyes agree their daughter will wear a lot of pink. When it comes to football, dad is Georgia fan and mom is a Razorback.

“We both love the Lord, but our football teams are on separate sides of God's country,” said Josh.

Josh got to help deliver Emily. Her footprints are still on his t-shirt. “She's healthy and safe and just to have a blessing like this is amazing,” said Josh.

Mom and baby should head home from the hospital later this week.

Baby Emily’s grandfather also celebrated his birthday on New Year’s Day.
