According to multiple sources, the Kansas City Chiefs and Andy Reid have reached an agreement to make Reid the next head coach. Contract details will be finalized Friday.

General Manger Scott Pioli was also fired in the move on Friday.

Reid coached the Philadelphia Eagles for 14 years from 1999-2012 and reached the playoffs nine times, including making Super Bowl XXXIX in 2005.

He won 130 regular-season games and 10 playoff games. During that same span the Chiefs had 98 wins, three postseason appearances and no postseason wins under five different head coaches.

Reid was highly sought after by many teams and had interviews lined up with both Arizona and San Diego, but Kansas City made an aggressive move earlier in the week and flew to Philadelphia to meet with Reid before he could go on the interviews. The two sides were in contract negotiations on Thursday and made the move official on Friday.

Kansas City fired coach Romeo Crennel on Monday after a franchise-worst 2-14 season.
