Arkansas State Police will soon begin the process of forming a committee to provide schools with a training plan for active-shooter situations.

Ken Jones, Director of the Arkansas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Training will be in charge of forming a group of representatives from his department, local sheriffs and police chiefs and those in emergency management.

The committee will come up with a ‘uniform preparedness training plan’ for active shooter situations that will be offered to any local schools.

The training will only be offered upon request from officials of the local school districts.
