Two Sebastian County motorists died in separate rollover car crashes last weekend after failing to wear their seatbelts, according to state police crash records.

Matthew D. Davis, 21, died Sunday after his Chevrolet Camero careened off of the roadway near Arkansas Highway 45 and Highway 252. The car struck a concrete bridge, rolled over and landed in a creek embankment shortly after 1:30 p.m., crash records show.

Davis’ body was taken to McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood. The weather conditions were clear and dry. Davis, of Hartford, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, records state.

Sheila Karow, of Fort Smith, was killed in a separate car wreck Sunday at about 12:15 a.m., according to the Arkansas State Police.

Karow’s Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound on Highway 1 near Cross County Road 206 when it left the roadway and overturned after striking a ditch, crash records show.

The weather was dry and clear at the time. Karow, 41, was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the Arkansas State Police.
