Police have found a man they said fled the scene of an injury accident after driving his car through a fence and into a house in Fayetteville on Wednesday afternoon.

Justin Allen, 23, of Fayetteville, is on probation following a Washington County drug conviction last year.

His girlfriend in the car, 22-year-old Kami Ralston, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after the car left the road, crashed through a wooden fence and lodged into the corner of a house at 1010 Sherman Ave. No one was home at the time of the wreck, Fayetteville police said.

Ralston told police Allen was choking her just before the crash. Allen told police the woman was driving when she suddenly passed out. He grabbed the wheel, accidentally causing the crash, Allen told investigators.

Allen said he ran from the scene, leaving Ralston behind, because he was scared and smelled smoke. Police found him about 20 minutes later a few doors down at a friend's house.

Police questioned Allen and Ralston. No one has been arrested. Police are not sure who was driving. Ralston is also on probation, the result of a burglary conviction last year.

The homeowner, Daniel Ray, said he has only lived at that residence for a month and a half.

Ray said the crash hit the water heater leaving him without water and electricity.

He said he couldn't believe it when he got the call from police.

"I was actually at work, the police called me, asked me where I lived, I told them and they said there was a car in my house," Ray said. "That I should get there if I wanted my belongings because it's flooding."

Ray had a crew help him temporarily fix the hole in the garage with plywood. He said he's just glad is dog is ok.

Allen has been arrested in Washington County five times since 2010 on charges ranging from traffic violations to drug and theft accusations. He pleaded guilty last year to two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, receiving five years probation, according to Washington County Circuit Clerk records.

Ralston was treated and released from Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville.
