Police in Oklahoma caught up to a Springdale man Thursday who outran police after beating a woman and stealing her car the day before, according to the Springdale Police Department.

Nathaniel Gregory, 24, was arrested on suspicion of robbery, aggravated assault, second-degree battery and fleeing police. He remained Friday night in the Washington County Detention Center on $25,000 bond.

The alleged victim told police Gregory beat and choked her to the point of losing consciousness Wednesday on Cascade Circle in Springdale. Gregory then forcibly took her keys and her black Acura car, she told detectives.

Officers responded to the call and followed Gregory in the stolen car for three miles before letting him go to avoid danger to the public along the road, according to an arrest warrant affidavit from the Washington County Circuit Court.

Police put a bulletin out on the car, and police in Glenpool, Okla., located the car and Gregory on Thursday. He was temporarily detained in the Tulsa County Jail before being booked into the Washington County Detention Center, the affidavit states.
