A man who kicked off a high-profile case last year by getting shot by a Lincoln officer was arrested Friday in connection with a burglary and theft.
Justin Hellyer, 18, faces charges of commercial burglary and theft of property. He remained Friday afternoon in the Washington County Detention Center on $3,500 bond.
Hellyer was a minor when he was involved in a high-speed chase with Lincoln authorities last February.
The Lincoln Police Department said Officer Chris Williams shot Hellyer in the leg when he displayed a knife following a chase on Rheas Community Road near Lincoln Lake.
The teen denied having a knife and investigators were never able to locate it.
The officer was not charged in the incident.
