Police say a Fayetteville woman was found with drug paraphernalia and syringes near her baby, one month after receiving a suspended prison sentence for a drug conviction.
Sherry Marshall, 30, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of parole violation, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a minor. She remained Friday in the Washington County Detention Center on $3,500 bond.
Parole officers were checking in on Marshall when they discovered several items of drug paraphernalia in her home consistent with the use of methamphetamine and marijuana, according to a preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.
Officers said they confiscated six syringes, a glass meth pipe and three marijuana pipes. Parole officers found two used syringes in a bedroom occupied by Marshall’s 7-month-old daughter, the preliminary report states.
The child was handed over to the state Department of Human Services.
Marshall has been arrested at least 10 times in the last eight years, mostly on suspicion of drug use, according to court records.
She was convicted in December of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine, receiving a 10-year prison suspended prison sentence. She was to remain free on certain parole conditions, according to court documents.
