A Fayetteville woman faces charges after being arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated Sunday morning.

Sunny Cross, 22, was booked into the Washington County Detention Center at 8:20 a.m. and released on $1,055 bond a little more than an hour later, according to the Sheriff’s Department website. Cross appeared on the MTV show “Catfish” in November 2012 during which it was revealed she had an online relationship with a person who turned out to be a woman instead of a man as she had believed.

A preliminary police report said an officer observed a maroon passenger car following another car too closely on Gregg Street at approximately 2:40 a.m. The officer said he noticed the car cross the double yellow middle line so he pulled the car over, the report said.

The driver, identified as Cross, failed a field sobriety test and had red, watery eyes and smelled of alochol, the report said. She registered .08 blood-alcohol content on a breathalyzer at the detention center at approximately 3:39 a.m., the report said.

The Sheriff’s Department website said Cross also faces traffic charges of driving left of center and following too closely. She has a March 4 court date in Fayetteville District Court.
