Woman In Hospital After Seizure Causes 4-Car Wreck

Two of the three people hospitalized in a four-car wreck Tuesday morning in Fayetteville have been released from the hospital, according to the Fayetteville Police Department.

A seizure may have caused a woman to drive her Oldsmobile into three cars before slamming into the light pole at the intersection of North College Avenue and Zion Road, police said. Three of the four drivers involved in the crash were hospitalized, said Sgt. Craig Stout with the Fayetteville Police Department.

Two of the drivers were treated and released from the hospital, while the woman driving the Oldsmobile has been admitted to the medical center, Stout said.

One person was hospitalized with apparent back injuries, authorities said.

The accident required one woman to be extracted from her vehicle after her foot became stuck in the brake pedal, officials said. That person also was hospitalized.

All injuries suffered in the crash were non-life-threatening, Stout said.
