Four-Car Accident Hospitalizes Two People

A four-car accident at North College Avenue and Zion Road in Fayetteville early Tuesday left two people hospitalized, said Sgt. Craig Stout, Fayetteville Police Department spokesman.

One person was hospitalized with apparent back injuries, authorities said.

The accident required one woman to be extracted from her vehicle after her foot became stuck in the brake pedal, officials said. That person also was hospitalized.

The condition of the two people who were hospitalized was unknown early Tuesday.

Police said the Oldsmobile pictured with this story struck three cars before slamming into the light pole at the intersection.
