Inside the Wishing Spring Gallery in Bella Vista young minds are being shaped through art.

KidzArt with a Z is a nationwide franchise, but the program in Benton County has only been open for a few months. Melanie Comber is the owner and instructor of the program.

"We are a drawing based art curriculum and we work with all artists with quality materials," she said. "We're for all ages. We start at age two on up to adult."

KidzArt is great for home school families, but after school classes are available.

Adults can also take a two-hour class. The idea is to create something beautiful in a short period of time. Comber says the final product is always suitable for framing.

"When they walk out of this class they feel really accomplished because they have successfully created a piece of work," she said. "We're not worried about mastery. What we focus on is creativity and learning through each piece of work that we work on."

Comber does a bunch of classes at Wishing Spring Gallery in Bella Vista because they have such a nice facility.  But she says she’s more than willing to book private parties.

"We do birthday parties and we'll go on site and do corporate events. If you want to do a private class we'll do that. We're very flexible.’"

It's only $25  for an hour class. The kids will get to use top-notch artist materials.

With all of the budget cuts in schools these days, sometimes art instruction gets left off the drawing board. KidzArt in Benton County is ready to fill that void.
