Like many road games before, an early deficit did the Arkansas basketball team in.
A second half run was not enough Wednesday night as the Hogs fell at LSU 65-60, dropping them to 17-11 and 8-7 in the SEC.
“Its disappointing,” Arkansas head coach Mike Anderson said. “We were right there, fought back and gave ourselves a chance. We just dug ourselves a hole.”
Arkansas was down by as many as 22 late in the first half, but used a 9-0 run to end the first, making it 45-32 at halftime.
LSU went up 16 just four minutes into the second half. Arkansas then used another run and cut the lead to 62-60 with a minute left.
They had multiple opportunities to tie or take the lead in the final minute but a BJ Young turnover and offensive foul did them in.
Young played sparingly in the first half and only finished with four total points.
Marshawn Powell led Arkansas with 17 points. Mardracus Wade had 15.
Poor shooting has been a chronic problem on the road. Arkansas shot just 35 percent from the floor.
