Three teenagers were arrested at Springdale High School on Tuesday in connection with a burglary case.

Juan Ayala and Jesus Tiburcio, both 18, were arrested on suspicion of residential burglary, theft of property and breaking and entering. Ayala was released Wednesday from the Washington County Detention Center on $2,500 bond. Tiburcio remained in the jail Wednesday in lieu of a $2,500 bond, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

A juvenile was also arrested. Police are not releasing his name.

The high school’s resource officer detained the three teenagers after seeing them on campus. Tiburcio is not allowed on school grounds, police said.

While the resource officer talked to the suspects, one of the teenagers mentioned a burglary that had occurred in Springdale, at which point the officer contacted the Springdale Police Department, police said.

Tiburcio told police the suspects broke into a Springdale home and stole jewelry that they later pawned, according to a preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office. The suspects later stole two chainsaws from a storage unit belonging to one of the suspects’ father, the report states.

Ayala confirmed Tiburcio’s claims to police and also told detectives he has stolen property from a burglary in the Alma area. Police arrested the three suspects and booked them into jail.
