School Locked Down After Woman Allegedly Threatens With Baseball Bat

A woman is behind bars after police say she threatened Eureka Springs school officials with a baseball bat at an elementary school Thursday.

A woman claiming to be the stepmother of a child attempted to enter Eureka Springs Elementary School to retrieve a child. When she was stopped from gaining entry, the woman returned with a baseball bat and threatened school officials with it, police said.

There were no reports of injuries and police later arrested the woman, who was awaiting the booking process at the Carroll County Detention Center on Thursday night, according to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.

The school was locked down during the incident.
