A Springdale man was arrested after police say he raped a woman while she was drowsy from prescription medication and alcohol.

James Logue, 63, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of rape. He was released Thursday from the Washington County Detention Center on $25,000 bond, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

A woman called Springdale police earlier this week to report that her friend had raped her after she invited him over while watching “The Walking Dead” on her laptop computer. Logue dropped by the woman’s house because he had been having problems with anxiety and was on several prescription drugs after seeking help from a local health facility, according to a preliminary report from the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.

Logue left the home to pick up the woman’s son up from work. When she awoke a few hours later, she was drowsy and noticed Logue in her home, she told police. She believed her medication combined with alcohol may have kept her from being able to resist the rape, according to the preliminary report.

Logue got on top of the woman and raped her, despite her telling him to stop and physically fighting to get him off of her, the report states.

During an interview with detectives, Logue said although he knew what he did was wrong, the woman had come on to him, police said. Logue told police “it only lasted a few minutes and he wouldn’t really call that sex,” the interviewing detective states.
