A Sallisaw woman pleaded guilty Friday (May 10) to child trafficking charges.
A judge sentenced Misty VanHorn to 10 years in jail with all but the first two years suspended.
Officers arrested VanHorn on March 6.
Sallisaw police say VanHorn tried to sell her 2-year-old and 10-month-old children for $4,000 to an Arkansas woman on Facebook. Investigators believe she was trying to get money to bail her boyfriend out of jail.
A neighbor says VanHorn asked him for money. “She was going door to door, here to all the way across town asking everybody for money to get him out,” said Tony Mosby, a neighbor.
Detectives confirm the state took custody of the children.
