Arkansas backup defensive end Austin Flynn is transferring.

Coach Bret Bielema made the announcement during an appearance at the White County Razorback Club meeting in Searcy on Monday.

Flynn was arrested last month on suspicion of DWI. However, Bielema said that was not the reason for his departure, but rather because of academic reasons.

Flynn recorded 10 tackles in 12 games last year as a reserve player, after transferring from Los Angeles Harbor College.
