Fort Smith native Gary Blan will assume the role of chief executive officer over Sparks Health System in Fort Smith and Summit Medical Center in Van Buren effective March 19.
Blan replaces Melody Trimble, who in January assumed the role of president of Health Management Associates’ Southern and Western Group, according to a news release from the health system.
Blan has more than 30 years of experience serving in healthcare leadership roles, about a decade of which he spent as CEO of multi-hospital health systems, according to the news release.
Trimble’s new position allows her to oversee Sparks, Summit and 24 other hospitals in seven states.
