Twenty volunteers helped transform the home of a local veteran in Fort Smith Monday (March 18).

It's all for Home Depot's "Team Depot." The project included window replacements for increased window efficiency, new door, flooring, carpeting, cabinets and ceiling fans.

The crew accomplished a lot, but it started out with a bit of a hitch.

"We had to wait for the rain,” said Karen McKnight with Home Depot. “Unfortunately, we had a late start. But we're going to try and get as many windows in as we can today.  Then, we'll go into the interior of the house and do the work that we need to do."

Volunteers came from Home Depot, Camp Hope for Heroes, and RF Installations.  Organizers say it's just one of several projects throughout the year to help local veterans.
