Alma Police have made an arrest in connection with last week’s bomb threat at Alma High School.

Kevin Ray Newton, 18, was arrested on a charge of Communicating a False Alarm, a Class “D” Felony, according to Lt. Jayson Peppas.

Newton was booked into the Crawford County Detention Center and has since bonded out of jail.

Alma High School was briefly evacuated on March 14 after a bomb threat was made. School officials believed it was a copycat of a similar threat made at Van Buren High School the day before.

Newton is a Senior at Alma High School.
