The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has released a sketch of what they believe the suspect who allegedly stabbed a woman earlier this week looks like.

A dog named “Blacky” saved a Washington County woman from further injury when a man stabbed her in her home Monday afternoon, she told 5NEWS.

Deputies are searching for the man they said stabbed Lisseth Martinez, 31, after stopping at her house and asking directions shortly after noon.

Emergency crews responded to 15454 Osage Hog Farm Road in reference to a woman who was allegedly stabbed. Martinez’s injury was not life-threatening, and she was rushed to and stitched up at a nearby hospital, she said.

Martinez is now home and resting.

Martinez told deputies she did not recognize the suspect. He asked to enter her home. When Martinez refused, he forced his way inside, stabbed her and fled the scene when the dog jumped on him, Martinez said.

Deputies believe the man fled north from the scene, toward Benton County, with a dark blue two-door, older model pickup truck. The suspect is a tall white man with a medium build and was wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, Cantrell said.

The man is bald, with a goatee, she said.

Anyone with any information on the suspect or the case is encouraged to contact the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 479-444-5700.
