Efforts to put out a fire at a former factory in Waldron have stopped.

The fire at the former Great Western Factory sparked around 9 a.m. Friday morning (April 5), according to Scott County dispatchers.

Firefighters are now letting the fire burn out.

Now home to the Pine Moore Shavings Plant, the building is located at 202 Fir Street near the entrance to the Tyson feed mill. The dispatcher says workers are being allowed access to the feed plant. So far no injuries are being reported from the fire.

The plant makes wood shavings used in animal bedding.
