Two local ladies have teamed up to spread hunger awareness in Northwest Arkansas.
5NEWS Reporter Christine Whitten was Keeping it Local in the kitchen Friday morning with Rhonda Crone and Maliah Pinkleton, the authors of "Local Flavor of Northwest Arkansas."
Crone and Pinkleton unveiled the cookbook at Fayetteville's First Thursday on April 4.
They shared one recipe with us:
Caprese Omelet
5 eggwhites, separate yolks1/2 stick of frozen butter
1 ball of fresh mozzarella, sliced thin
1 tomato, chopped
Fresh basil
3 sprigs of rosemary
-Whisk egg whites with a splash a milk, flip as a flat egg
Hollandaise sauce
In a saute pan, put yolks with finely chopped rosemary on low.
Slowly add frozen butter. Stir constantly until cream
Add cheese, tomato, basil to inside of omelet. Top with hollandaise sauce.
