A day full of forgettable errors ended on a positive note as the 10th-ranked Arkansas baseball team split a doubleheader with New Mexico on Tuesday at Baum Stadium. The Razorbacks won the nightcap, 4-3 when Jacob Mahan singled with the bases loaded and two outs.

Arkansas dropped the opening game of the doubleheader, 3-0. All three runs came off of Arkansas errors.

In the second game, the Hogs looked like they were going to get swept by a .500 team when New Mexico got up 3-0 again.

But then Arkansas scored its first run in 20 innings on an Eric Fisher fielder's choice RBI that scored Brian Anderson in the second inning.

Anderson then made it a 3-2 game with a solo home run to leadoff the fourth inning. A Tyler Spoon RBI double in the fifth tied it at 3-3 before Mahan's heroics in the ninth.

Spoon led the Razorbacks at the plate in the doubleheader, going 5-for-7 with a RBI. Matt Vinson was 4-for-8 with a pair of runs scored, while Dominic Ficociello was on base six times during the two games, going 2-for-5 at the plate with four walks.

Arkansas continues Southeastern Conference play this weekend, hosting No. 2 LSU in a three-game series. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. on Friday, 6:05 p.m. on Saturday and 1:05 p.m. on Sunday
