Three Cedarville students were arrested Wednesday (April 17) in connection with recent bomb scares.

Two of the students attend Cedarville High School, while the other attends the middle school, according to Superintendent Dr. Dan Foreman. The students will be charged as juveniles.

The students were identified by surveillance videos from hallway security cameras and interviews by police and school officials.

The bomb threats took place on April 2 and April 15, Foreman said. On both occasions, the buildings were evacuated while police and Crawford County deputies searched the campuses for potential explosive devices. None were found during either incident.

Several River Valley schools have been threatened with violence this spring. At least seven threats have been investigated at the Van Buren School District. Police arrested four teens on felony charges in connection with those cases.

Other local schools, including Southside High School, Alma Public Schools, and Greenwood Public Schools have also dealt with threats of violence recently.  For more coverage of these threats, click here.
