Charleston Man Killed in Highway 22 Accident

One person has died after a two car accident on Highway 22 near Lavaca, according to an Arkansas State Police.

The accident happened around 3:50 p.m. Thursday (April 18), according to ASP.

Christopher A. Parker, 29, of Charleston was driving a 2002 Buick eastbound on Hwy. 22 when he crossed the center-line and hit a 2007 Dodge traveling westbound on the highway, according to investigating ASP Trooper Jed Bolyard.

According to Arkansas State Police the Dodge was driven by Steven W. Wilkins, 60, of Fenton, Missouri.  Parker was pronounced dead at the scene.  His body was transported to Brotherton Bros. Funeral Home in Charleston.

Arkansas State Police, Central City Police and Sebastian County Deputies responded to the scene.  Wilkins was transported to Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith.  The extent of his injuries was not immediately available.
