Firefighters responded to two early morning fires Thursday morning.
In Van Buren, crews responded to a home in the Rolling Hills neighborhood near Highway 64.

Neighbors say the homeowner was in a nursing home and that the home was vacant at the time of the fire.  The call was made to 911 shortly before 2 a.m. Thursday.

Firefighters remained on scene overnight working to contain the flames inside the home.  No injures were reported in that fire.  The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

Siloam Springs Firefighters were called after investigators said lightning ignited a home in Soloam Springs.

The fire sparked before 4 a.m. at a home on Misty Court, according to Sgt. Miller with the Siloam Springs Police Dept.

Investigators said the fire sparked after lightning hit a gas line in the backyard of the home, spreading to the hot water heater and igniting the home.

The fire caused significant damage to a garage area and walls of a home, but was contained quickly.  Two adults and their two small children were inside the home at the time, but managed to escape without injury.

Sgt. Miller said the home suffered minor smoke and fire damage.
