A possible tornado hit Delaware County near Grove, Okla, around 1:30 a.m. Thursday (April 18).

The Butler Volunteer Fire Department was hit as well as several homes, power lines and trees in Delaware County. Several doors on the fire department were blown in and part of the roof ripped off but no equipment was damaged.

One woman was taken to a nearby hospital after she was hit by flying glass.

County officials say the storm damage was sporadic.

"About six miles from here and that's the furthest one that I’ve had, down on White Water Road, in that area,” said Doug Smith, County Commission for District 1. “We have some crews down there that are still working on the roads, getting some things cleaned up. It rained a lot too so we have some bridges with a lot of debris under them so we have to get that debris cleaned up before we lose those bridges.”

Smith says all of the debris will be cleared from the road by the end of the day.

The National Weather Service in Tulsa is expected to come out and survey the damage in Delaware County.

Butler was hit by a tornado last year, according to Smith.
