Police in Poteau, Okla., are looking for a man they say robbed a woman at a local restaurant Friday afternoon.

The Beano’s Place employee told police a white male grabbed her purse from her arm at about 2 p.m., slightly injuring her in the process. He then fled from the restaurant on foot, south toward a nearby Marvin’s IGA, the woman told authorities.

The alleged victim said she did not see a weapon, and she had talked to the suspect earlier in the day. He’s described as wearing a black baseball cap, possibly with a logo on the front, and a black hooded sweatshirt with a zippered front. The suspect was also wearing blue jeans and appeared to be in his late 20s or early 30s, police said.

The suspect may be about six feet tall and about 180 to 190 pounds, with salt and pepper hair and a two to three day old unshaven face, said Stephen Fruen, Poteau police chief.

Anyone who might know any information about the case or the suspect is encouraged to call the Poteau Police Department at (918) 647-8620.
