Sara Ann Pendergraff is one of 25 Fayetteville High School students to sign National Letters of Intent to continue their sports careers at the college level.  Pendergraff will be attending Texas Christian University for equestrian.

Pendergraff started showing horses when she was 7 years old.   She has finished top ten at the Youth World Show several times and this year she is ranked number one in the world in two of the classes she competes in.  She was also a member of Team USA for the Youth World Cup.

"There were ten people on Team USA," said Pendergraff.  "Five leaders and five riders.  We went to Germany and competed there for three days.  We got the chance to meet people from all over the world who have the same passion as us."

The experience of being on a team at the World Cup is something Pendergraff believes will help her with the transition college.  TCU is ranked seventh in the country and while having a good equastrian team was one of the reasons she chose TCU it wasn't the only one.

"I mainly chose TCU becuase my sister goes to school there so I have a little bit of family," said Pendergraff.  "I also really like the coach and the facilities.  It's going to be a lot of fun."

Pendergraff has worked extremely hard for all her success.  She spends countless hours at Murray Griggs Barn perfecting her skills, but it's her pure passion for the sport that makes her so successful.

"I really just love riding," said Pendergraff.  "There is something about the horses, its just a lot of fun to me."
