Despite the cold damp weather Arkansas State Highway Department workers gathered to test their skills Thursday at Chaffee Crossing.
A group of equipment operators took part in the highway department's 23rd annual rodeo. It tests the skills of the operators as they maneuver their equipment through various obstacle courses.
Glenn Bolick says they have different courses for each type of machinery and winners from this area will go on to Little Rock for a statewide competition.
If they're skilled enough to win at Little Rock, the equipment operators then go on to regional competition in Kentucky, according to Bolick.
