Eric Edelstein resigned his position as the Northwest Arkansas Naturals’ general manager and has accepted a similar position with the Arizona Diamondbacks’ AAA baseball club in Reno, Nev., the Naturals organization announced Thursday.

Edelstein has been the general manager of the Naturals since they relocated to Springdale in 2008.

“We would like to congratulate Eric and wish him success as he takes this exciting new position with Reno. Over the years, Eric has done a tremendous job directing the creation of the Naturals, the building of Arvest Ballpark and bringing great baseball and family fun to the Northwest Arkansas area,” said Jonathan Dandes, President of Rich Baseball Operations. “We thank him for his dedication, his service and the passion he has brought to Naturals baseball.”

Justin Cole, the assistant general manager, will replace Edelstein in the Naturals front office, according to the organization. He has been with the Naturals family since their first season in 2008.
