Two men are being held on $1 Million bonds in connection with a bomb threat that evacuated the Johnson County courthouse on May 3, according to the Courier News in Russellville.

Gregory T. Marshall, 46, of Scranton, and Anthony D. Stepp, 33, of Clarksville, are facing charges of terroristic threatening in the first degree.

The building was evacuated after the call was received around 8:45 a.m. Friday (May 3). The caller claimed that a bomb would go off in the building within 30 minutes.

“She was shocked,” said Aleah Duff who works with the courthouse employee who took the call.

The employee was questioned by authorities, according to Josh Johnston, Emergency Management Coordinator. He said court was in session on the second floor when the call came in.

“I think sometimes people are seeking attention or just trying to get out of something,” he said.

Employees from all four floors of the courthouse were forced outside for about 45 minutes while the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department and Clarksville Police investigated.

Officials swept the building and determined there was no threat.
