Authorities are awaiting an autopsy report after a man was found dead early Tuesday morning (May 14) in Liberty, Okla.

Emergency dispatchers received a call at 6:45 a.m. of a man lying in the middle of the road near the Liberty Fire Department, according to Sequoyah County Sheriff County Sheriff Ron Lockhart.

Lockhart said when investigators arrived they found a white man with a gunshot wound to the upper torso.

It’s unclear at this time if the circumstances surrounding the death are suspicious.  Authorities have not identified suspects or persons of interest in the death investigation.
