North Little Rock Takes 7A Softball Title

Lady Wildcats overpower Rogers to take state championship

There was no stopping North Little Rock at Bogle Park on Saturday in the 7A state championship game.

The Lady Wildcats got a dominant pitching performance from Rachel Gregory as they coasted to a 10-0 win against Rogers in six innings.

North Little Rock got plenty of offense early as Ashton Bobbitt drove in a run then McKenzie Escovedo drove in two more with a single to left.

"He was really proud of us for how our season was and to just not hang our heads and be good with how we played throughout the season," Ashlyn Lang said after hearing from coach Mike Harper.

The Lady Wildcats scored two runs on two separate wild pitches in the 6th inning to invoke the Arkansas Activities Association sportsmanship rule.

"This was a really good season for us," Rogers junior Kylan Hensley said. "I think that we played really well and no matter what we did our best."
