Big trucks, available for some play-time, isn't something children usually have at their reach.
However, at the Seventh Annual Touch-A-Truck event kids were able to climb on, discover and explore their favorite big trucks, emergency vehicles and motorcycles, tractor trailers and boats. There were also safety demonstrations and performances.
Allison Ellison, organizer, said she appreciates the participation of local law enforcement agencies and businesses.
"We really commend them and appreciate them because it does take a lot of time from their part to clean their vehicles and to pull them often times off of job sites to bring them here," Ellison said. "So it's a lot of fun for everyone involved."
The event is organized by the Junior League of Northwest Arkansas. It took place in the Target parking lot in Rogers.
The money raised goes towards the Women's Shelter and the Children's House.
"The best thing is seeing the smiles on all the kids faces, the laughter and knowing that at the end of the day we've raised quite a bit of money going back to our local community," Ellison said.
