A number of businesses on Block Street in Fayetteville took to the street to offer specials to hundreds of people who came downtown Saturday.
Rachel Huff, a Block Street business owner, said the idea behind the party was to show everyone that Block Street is a great place to visit and shop. This year was the third year the Block Street Party had been held.
"Once the street was redone with all this parking we were hearing alot of negative feedback from people that they didnt want to come down here anymore," Huff said. "And since that the first year we had block party was to help counteract that negative impact to let people know that parking is not that difficult and it is fun to come down here."
