The tragedy in Moore, Oklahoma has many wanting to help. Reports show 24 are dea and hundreds injured in the tornado which swept through the town Monday afternoon. The big hearts of our friends, neighbors, and families prompts many drives, fundraisers, and volunteer hours to be logged.
On the flip side, devastation can also bring out scammers. If you are looking to help or give, especially with cash donations–which is much needed and often times most helpful–we are often reminded to use reputable sources such as the Salvation Army or Red Cross.
Here are other ways you can help out as well, uniquely:
Riffraff in Fayetteville is donating 20% of their STATE LOVE line to the Red Cross in Moore. Their relief efforts run through Saturday.
Benton County Sheriff, Kelley Cradduck, is hosting a concealed carry class to benefit the tornado victims. Oklahoma Governor, Mary Fallin has stated monetary donations, are most in need. With that, the class fee is being donated to the efforts. The class will be held May 25 at 8 a.m. at the Microtel Hotel in Bentonville. Pre-registration is not needed. Each person will need to bring 16 rounds of ammunition. The sheriff says if you have a pistol you can bring it.
We have heard of a number of churches with their own relief efforts, as well as hospitals and even school children are helping out. Local members of the Salvation Army and Red Cross are also en route to Moore. Our hearts go out to Moore.
